He came on Sunday?can I say him did come pon Sunday??
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t yeh…yuh can use dat or “Him did deh yah Sundeh” = He was here on Sunday
@@ChatPatwah how about I will visit you on Sunday. Is it mi a guh visit yuh pon Sunday or on Sunday?
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t yeh…couple ways: “Mi a guh come check yuh Sundeh” “Mi wi link yuh Sundeh” “Mi a guh pass chru Sundeh” couple of ways you can say this but what you have is also correct.
Teacher Andry would love to ask something about the locative description in patwa.like saying he is in Uganda.will it be him deh a uganda?
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t Perfeck!!!! Yup! “Him/im deh a Uganda” good job mi G 👊🏾
@@ChatPatwah Thank you my teacher I am also putting effort I love 🇯🇲 so much and the culture and the ladies too.
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t 👊🏾
What if I say bring di bookle seh pon di table fi me
Can I also just say mi want a book or should I say mi want waa book??
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t either is acceptable 👊🏾
Something in the previous lesson I didn't understand is waa and a .A book ,waa book
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t yes…we use “one” sometimes in place of “a” for singular…and at full speed when paired with a noun/pronoun pronounced “waa”….waa man, waa ooman, waa cyar, waa bwoy, waa girl a look fi yuh.
My mom used to say "both of the oonuh" when reffering to me and my brother i thought she was saying "both of the uno" like in spanish lmaoooo😭
@@sims9342 yup…that’s how we say “you all” or “you guys” so both a oonuh or two a oonuh is correct 😁👊🏾🇯🇲
By the way Teacher Andry .Let's also touch on this ,how to say you should have gone in the past tense? You should not have gone.
"Yuh shoulda did guh" "Yuh neva shoulda did guh"
@@ChatPatwah thanks so much,I will still be waiting dis video until I get the hang of it
I hope you don't mind me asking whenever I am stuck about something in Patwa.
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t no man yuh good…mi nuh mind…caw odda people might have di same question…suh di question dem helpful…mi nuh mind mi G 👊🏾
How about this is how it is done?a suh it a done.
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t “Dis a how yuh dweet” “A suh yuh fi dweet” “Dis a how wi dweet” “A suh wi dweet”
Teacher Andry how about i am still stuck at*did*.can i say you did eat?or you eat? Are both correct?
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t yes…wi would structure di sentence “Yuh did eat aready?” “Yuh eat aready?” “Yuh did eat yet?” “Yuh eat yet?”
Was just suprised how bottlle in patwa is bokkle
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t yeah…words containing -ttle and -tle usually get pronounced -kkle or -kle such as little would be likkle and title would be tikle 👊🏾🇯🇲
Thanks so much Teacher Andry.i am actually very serious with the lessons.
How to say you should have done it and you should not have done it in patwa
you should create a written test for us
I could…actually not a bad idea 😁👊🏾
beg yoh a ting noh.
Mi Understand! Thanks! 🤙 lol
How about using because of that and therefore how do you use it in a sentence
What are you asking...how to use "because of that"? and "therefore"? Give me an example to clarify.
@@ChatPatwah I did go to him yard but him nuh around therefore I left
@@ChatPatwah it is a public holiday today because of that I didn't go to school
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t fi dis example wi would’n use “therefore” more along the lines of English…Jamaican simplifies all that…so this example would be: “Mi did guh a im yaad but im neva deh deh suh mi lef”. Wi woulda use “suh” in place of “therefore” inna English
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t “Tideh/todeh a public holiday suh mi neva guh a school”
Mi a luv yuh videos Andre… mi can’t stop a watch.. 😂 greetings from Nigeria.. 🇳🇬
Nuff respeck mi family 👊
Dis whole channel is great ❤️🇯🇲
Appreciate dat...nuff respeck!
Kid said "me will call dem" ☹️
How about words connecting sentences like therefore, because, do they remain with their original stem
Usually changed around and other words used in their place to convey the same meaning. One such word is "true" used in the context of "because"....and because shortened to "caw"....Example: A true him nuh have di money wah mek im nuh buy it yet = It's because he doesn't have the money why he hasn't already purchased it.
Fi example teacher Andry if I want to say ,I did go to work because I am sick becomes ,Mi nuh go a work today a true mi sick?is that correct
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t I woulda put it “Mi neva guh a work tideh true mi did sick” (Mi nuh guh = still correct)
Goodmorning remains, goodafter and good evening. Remains like it real format
@@ChatPatwah thanks so much for the support Teacher Andry.i have started even practicing it.

Forgot to ask you about this one Teacher Andry, how to say no worries i will handle that in patwa.Or do loose hope its going to be fine
Multiple ways to do this but the most basic is: “Nuh worry yuhself…mi wi hangle it/dat”. “Nuh watch nutten = Don’t worry about a thing” lots of other ways to express this same sentiment these are just some of the basics.

What's the difference between "Wi friends" and "Wi friend dem"? Is one more commonly used than the other?
“Wi friends” is mixing Jamaican with English while “Wi fren dem” is straight Jamaican for “Our friends” 👊🏾🇯🇲
I am a jamaican but i dont like to speak jamaican i like every other accent except ours
Sorry to hear that, cause our language is one of the most imitated in the world…but to each his own. 👊🏾🇯🇲 #proud
Teqcher Andry ,i am leaving up but i need help here.does wa'a mean 'a'.like i used to have a bicycle ,is it correct to say mi did hav wa'a bucycle?
Waa comes from “one” to mean singular and used in the context of “a”…fi example. A man a look fi yuh….or Waa man a look fi yuh = A man is looking for you.
@@ChatPatwah so it's optional ,you can choose to use it or not?
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t yeh…Dem interchangeable
But you can also say mi did hav a bicycle or mi did hav wa'a bicycle.eithway.is correct in patwa

Who is the targeted audience? I’m an American. Sounded like regular English to me in your video, closer to British English. So we understand the Mi Me My I thing. What I want to learn about Patois is conversational things that I really don’t understand at all. Like, I can hear English words but I have no idea what was said.
The target audience is whoever that wishes to learn our language. This is a volume of lessons, I’m currently up to Lesson 27 and constantly adding and updating the channel. It starts from the beginner level and progressively gets more advanced.
Precious info. Thanks for that!
Yeh man…respeck 👊🏾🇯🇲

And also possesives .If you want to ask.Whose car is this. This car is his, this car is mine.please teacher Andry bread down for me this one
1. Fi who = whose 2. Who fah = whose 3. Fi who fah (Foofa) = Whose. Example “A fi who/who fah/foofa car dis? Fi mi = mine “A fi mi car” = It’s mine

In patwa ,what if I want to ask a question in the past tense .Did you go to school?,did you eat.
Yuh did guh a school? Yuh eat aready?
Yuh eat yet?
Can I also ask and say yuh did eat?
How come you used did a gug school, but for eat you said Yuh eat yet not yuh did eat.help me in this my teacher Andry.
@@user-zb9tt7mo3t some time the “did” get omitted and it still understood…fi past tense, noun followed by verb usually a past tense…sometime wi put “did” in between the noun and verb fi past tense…di 2 interchangeable…example: Mi know dat/Mi did know dat = I knew that.
How about if I want to ask a question like ,Were you cooking when he came.
Yuh did a cook when im reach?
Tank yuh fi a make me discover dis song !!! Mi love it !!! Lyrics deh so deep and nice !!
Mi love dis new format !
